Is hair included/ provided?
Yes! Hair is included with all services that requires braiding hair/human hair. I provide a variety of colors, custom blends & curl patterns. All braiding hair is treated before installation to remove all harsh chemicals & prevent scalp irritation, alopecia & other skin conditions caused by unwash braiding hair.
How long do braids typically last?
Typically 4-8 weeks, depending on the style, how well you maintain them, & your hair type. It's very important to moisturize & protect your braids to ensure longevity.
Do I need to wash my hair before my appointment?
Yes, it's important to wash and detangle your hair thoroughly before your appointment to ensure the best results & reduce time spent at the shop.
Can braiding damage my hair?
When done correctly by a professional like myself, braiding should not damage hair.
Can I wash my braids?
Yes, you can wash your braids, but only braids that are plaited such at two strand twists, knotless braids, & plaits. Be gentle to avoid frizz. Use a diluted shampoo, focusing on your scalp, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid excessive rubbing and allow the braids to air dry. Avoiding water running down the shaft of the braid/twist by pulling your braids up into a hair tie.
How do I maintain my braids?
You can maintain your braids by keeping your scalp clean and moisturized, wearing a silk or satin scarf or bonnet at night, and avoiding excessive manipulation. Light oils or braid sprays/foams can help keep you scalp and braids hydrated.
What's the best way to take down braids?
To safely take down braids, gently unravel them using your fingers or comb. Be patient to avoid pulling or breaking your natural hair. After removal, detangle your hair and apply a deep conditioner or a hydrating treatment.
How often should I braid my hair?
It's best to give your hair a break between braiding sessions, ideally 2-4 weeks, too allow your scalp and hair to recover and maintain their health.
